The full spectrum of work is being carried out by Thai companies, with just the interior design being outsourced overseas to Warwick Yacht Design in New Zealand
The works listed below are some of the major aspects of the job:
- Full design process – interior and exterior
- Stripping of the existing vessel
- Major steel work
- Major alloy work
- Complete repowering
- Rewiring the entire vessel
- Re-plumbing the entire vessel
- Fairing and painting the complete vessel above the waterline
- Installation of new boarding ladders, passerelles, stabilizers
- Complete new interior fit out
With many contractors temporarily relocating for this conversion project the yard on the outskirts of Bangkok now has upwards of 200 people working on the various aspects of the project. With on site project offices, new purpose built alloy shed and bonded warehouse the management team have all the necessary facilities to control the conversion process whilst minimising any unnecessary duties paid on imported items as the vessel is due for exportation upon completion. All contractors involved are working closely together ensure the highest standards are achieved, once launched this vessel will be a fine example of what can be achieved in Thailand.
